Finally we have here the expected earphone plus microphone for the audio devices, they only work with last generation ones!
View it in the official apple store. The cheap ones and the high end ones.
Also you can look the required VoIP software to convert your suposed only audio devices to a complete VoIP phone! And the well known IM+ also has a version for the iPod and iPhone.
